Answers to Your Questions About Our Letter Service

  • Safe Roads Letter Service is a discreet, compassionate service that helps concerned individuals take the difficult step of encouraging an elderly loved one to stop driving. For a fee, we craft and mail a personalized, respectful letter—designed to express care, preserve dignity, and support safety.

  • We understand how emotionally difficult this conversation can be. Our experienced team creates non-confrontational, empathetic letters tailored to your unique situation. Sometimes, hearing it from a neutral third party makes the message easier to receive and act on.

  • Yes. Our service is completely legal. We are simply providing a written communication on your behalf, much like a letter-writing or advocacy service. We do not report drivers to the authorities or attempt to revoke licenses.

  • The letter will come from one of our departments, the Safe Roads Transportation Review Unit. If you like, we can carbon copy (“cc:”) you at the bottom of the letter with your name or your email address.

  • Click the Purchase button at the top of the web page and complete the secure online form with a few key details including:

    • The name of your senior driver

    • Your name and contact information

    • Your relationship to the driver

    • A few details about recent incidents or concerns

    • Your choice to be cc:’d at the bottom of the letter

Once submitted, we’ll draft your letter and send it by mail, within 36 hours depending on volume. We will notify you by email when the letter is sent and provide a copy of the letter along with additional useful resources.

  • Our standard fee is $24.99 per letter, which includes a customized letter and additional resources which will assist in this process. We will send a second letter at your request as part of the package.

  • If you contact us within 24 hours and the letter has not yet been mailed, we can cancel or revise the request. After the letter is sent, changes cannot be made, and the fee is non-refundable.

  • Currently, we only send letters within the U.S., but we are exploring international services based on demand. Feel free to contact us with specific requests.

  • Absolutely. All personal information and correspondence are handled with strict confidentiality. We will never share your details with third parties.

  • We cannot guarantee outcomes. However, we aim to present a respectful, well-reasoned case that encourages self-reflection and safety. Many clients have reported that the letter opened the door to meaningful conversations and ultimately helped their loved one make the right decision.

  • We do not provide a copy of the letter prior to its purchase. Upon purchase and subject to your request we will provide you with a copy via email with your email address or name carbon copied at the bottom of the letter in an effort to facilitate a conversation. The letter is our intellectual property and a core part of our service. Allowing copies to be downloaded prior to purchase would undermine the integrity of what we offer and opens the door for it to be copied and sent outside our process.

Our focus is on crafting a thoughtful communication that’s delivered professionally and discreetly. This policy protects the uniqueness of the letter, the privacy of the recipient, and the quality of the Safe Roads Letter Service.
